Kit Irving of the Nakusp Trefoil Guild died suddenly 24 September.

There will a celebration of Kit’s life on 14 October at 4pm at St Mark’s Anglican Church on 4th Ave in Nakusp followed by tea at the Seniors’ Lodge.

Wilderness First Aid Training

This training is for Guiders with an interest in pursuing adventure camping within Guiding. This Wilderness First Aid course will be facilitated by a certified wilderness first aid instructor, and builds on Standard First aid by including prolonged casualty care, casualty transport and backcountry improvisations.

Maximum number of participants is 12. Participants require OAL Path & OAL Trail or equivalent experience and Standard First Aid taken within the past 5 years.

The training will take place at Camp McLanlin, Abbotsford, BC March 30 – April 1, 2012

$100 per participant—cheques payable to: GGC, BC Council. Cost includes course, reference materials, accommodation and meals (Friday evening snack to Sunday lunch inclusive). Registration fee is non-refundable after January 30, 2012. This training is subsidized by BC Council, coordinated by the BC Camping Committee.

This training is for Guiders with an interest in pursuing adventure camping within Guiding. This course will be facilitated by a Canada West Mountain School instructor, and will cover topics such as leadership, planning, equipment, navigation, risk management and food in a classroom setting.

Maximum number of participants is 24. Particpants require OAL Path & OAL Trail or equivalent experience
