There is hot and cold potable water piped into the Longhouse, but no shower facilities.
The Longhouse has a well equipped kitchen with two electric stoves, an electric commericial size grill, two electric fridges, a small deep-freeze and a microwave. There is a plentiful supply of dishes, pots, pans, cutlery and kitchen utensils. There is seating for 48 at mealtime. A small airtight wood heater provides warmth. There is a small bunk-room with six beds.
Renters must supply their own tea towels, first aid kit, axes, shovels, tents and tarps.
There is a general store at Destiny Bay approximately 5 kms north and a post office approximately 2 kms south.
The camp is 30 minutes from the Kootenay Bay where you can watch a number of artisans at work, including glass blowers, blacksmiths and traditional broom makers, or catch a ferry which gives easy access to Nelson, Ainsworth Hotsprings and the Cody Caves. The Creston Valley Wildlife Centre, an internationally acclaimed RAMSAR site is 45 minutes south.
